Michael R. Rojik

Founder

Michael R. Rojik was the Founder of Nepal School Projects. Although his professional background was in private sector business, following his early retirement, he devoted more than 35 years in initiating development projects in one of the poorest rural regions of Nepal. (1923 - 2013)



Fran Lloyd, BA, BEd, MEd

Fran is a retired Secondary School Teacher and Guidance Cousellor who led student volunteer trips to Nepal and other countries during her 32 year career, in Ontario, Canada. Fran first visited Nepal in 1971 and has returned many times since then.  Involved with NSP since 1999, Fran has been on the board since 2003.  Committed to volunteerism, Fran on her retirement, created a Bursary that students, who demonstrated need, could access in order to participate in a volunteer trip abroad. Married, Fran enjoys hiking, outdoor activities, volunteering and travelling.

Karin Swift MA MAdev TESL   ​

 Karin went to work at an orphanage following university for a few months in Guatemala and a passion for this working in remote communities was ignited. Since then, she  has been involved in international development for many years and lived and worked in Guatemala, Mexico and India where she worked on projects in Health and Education. Since returning to Canada she has worked for Provincial and National Charities as a programmer and educator. Karin is currently working as a project manager in Children’s Health Services at the Community Care Access Centre and teaches English as a second language.



Betty Irwin    BA

Betty was born in Vancouver and completed an English Degree from Simon Fraser University. Throughout Betty's professional life she worked in Sales and Marketing within the private sector toy industry. She is now retired and living in British Columbia. Betty is an avid philanthropist and active community member.

Terri Lloyd,  BA,  B.Ed.

Terri grew up in Burlington Ontario and now lives in Hamilton with her husband and son. She has two children, two step children and three amazing grandchildren. She received a BA from McMaster University and a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto, OISE.
She has spent her career in education, working for many years with special needs children. She volunteered in her community, worked as an Educational Assistant, Special Education teacher and Student Success teacher. Terri also worked for the last several years of her career as a Teacher Librarian. She retired from the Halton Board of Education in June 2019. ​
Terri has volunteered with NSP since 2018. In retirement she is looking forward to traveling to Nepal to see the work this wonderful organization has accomplished.
Marilyn Baker-Anderson, BA, MA.​

Born in Edmonton, Marilyn spent the majority of her adult life living and working in Vancouver. She has a MA in Community and Regional Planning from UBC and largely worked in the public sector. She retired early so she could pursue her interests in international development and has worked as a volunteer with CESO and CUSO doing projects in Cameroon, Cambodia, Ethiopia, the Philippines and Tanzania. Now retired, she and her husband are living in North Saanich on Vancouver Island.
