What We Do
NSP responds to requests from citizens living within the Kabhre Palanchok Region for health, sanitation, and education projects.
At NSP we believe that the best approach toward development activities in Third World countries is to put the beneficiaries in charge of development projects within their own communities. The local people best understand their own problems and should be encouraged to seek their own solutions, possibly with the help of external material and training assistance. The implementation of the projects we support in Nepal is carried out by our counterpart organization NSP Nepal. NSP Nepal has been incorporated as a non-profit organization and is managed by its own Board of Directors. NSP Nepal can also be reached by e-mail at info@nepalschoolprojects.ca. Historically, the Board of Directors for NSP Canada has solicited funds from donations and raised on average $75,000 per year with matching funds from CIDA. Now, marketing and fundraising has been focused on traditional efforts such as mail outs, individual giving, corporate giving, events, and occasional organized trips to Nepal. In order to sustain and grow the NPS’s operations and programs, the board is focusing on the following goals in 2019-2022:
