Walk for Nepal
Namaste
For the past 20 years Nepal School Projects has held a walk on the Bruce Trail in Caledon as a fundraising activity for NSP. This year we are holding the same event but it will be held on the Bruce Trail just south of Waterdown (north Burlington). Your individual donation to NSP is imperative. We need to fund 100% of our projects through events like this. We receive no government or quasi-government support. Our financial needs are $100,000 annually; the critical point being that essentially all of the money goes directly to the Nepali people and the village projects. To date, we are extremely proud to have built 113 schools, installed 272 water systems and 3783 latrines. Visit other projects for a full list of our accomplishments. The walk, which is our most important fund raising event of the year, will take place on May 12, 2013 beginning just south of Waterdown. In the past year NSP has developed new schools and repaired existing village schools in Nepal. Our main focus for the coming year is building latrines in the villages (cost of each toilet is $375). We have requests for 1200 new latrines. We are one of the only NGOs working in this area of Nepal. Please join us for this important annual walk. This year, we are requesting that each participant on the walk collect a minimum of $250 per person, or $300 per family. Download your pledge sheet here. Please note that tax receipts will be provided for any donation of CDN $25 or more. Details of the walk are as follows: Date: Sunday May 12, 2012 Time: 2:00 p.m. sharp Starting Place: 67 Horning Rd, Burlington, Ontario, L7T 3T3 Walk Duration: 2 hours Please email Fran if you are planning to attend the walk for Nepal. A map to the starting point is included to the right. If you cannot attend the walk, we gratefully welcome your sponsorship. You can donate directly on the website. |
